What is E-filing?
Electric files or e-files have always been used within the industry. E-files were essential to begin with as the products used then were a lot harder to file and it took a lot of time.
With the progress of product chemistry, the use of e-files, caused a decline, although in recent years they have started to become more popular. This recent incline in e-filing use is due to profit margin increase, but also as e-files have health benefits to the technician as repeated use of a manual file can cause repetitive strain and carpal tunnel syndrome, the use of an e-file can reduce the chances of this.
Whether or not you use an e-file is a personal choice. Once trained and experienced they can be a great tool. It can be used to speed up service times. The e-file shouldn’t be used to correct poor application of product.
